FreeVimcher is an excellent free software tool that allows you to easily manage your Windows based PC using a simple drag and drop interface. Features include the ability to manage your Time Line, hide/show windows, create panes and zoom in and out. FreeVimager also has a powerful image library manager and also has the ability to share images with others by uploading them to popular web sites like Picasa or Flickr. This great application also allows you to easily save pictures/records to your desktop by using the 'SD card' feature.
FreeVimager does have a few drawbacks however such as the fact that it does not seem to work on latest windows operating systems and it is also quite slow on older computers. Other than these drawbacks you also get some additional features which are very useful such as the built in 'power save mode' which automatically shuts down all unnecessary windows to conserve battery power. The most attractive part of FreeVimager for me would be its ability to easily switch between multiple windows. Although this feature is not explained in the instructions, I assume that by using the shortcut on the start button you are switching from the main window to a split screen mode. Another nice option is the option to lock the background color to make your computer icons more unique.
Although free image windows version does work perfectly on windows 7 and newer, there are many problems associated with this version on windows XP and previous versions. One of these is the fact that FreeVimager does not recognize DLL files which are required for certain software like Windows Movie Maker. Another common problem is the fact that while starting FreeVimager, a blue screen error appears. Fortunately, this problem is very easily fixed by restarting your computer. I have not tested this however and it is recommended that you try out the trial version first to see if it solves the problem for you.
